Fern Lodge is a newly renovated building at Barnhourie Farm, a non-working farm, on the stunning South West coast of Scotland.
Just over an hour from the M6 at Carlisle, this coastal retreat is 600 yards from the beautiful Sandyhills beach - part of the 'Scottish Riveria'.
Situated in 2.5 acres of gardens, and backing onto a golf course, the farm and lodge are set in an idyllic location, secluded and peaceful, surrounded by ancient oaks and woodland. The garden is awash with wildflowers throughout the seasons starting with snowdrops followed by daffodils, bluebells, white stitchwort, wood anemones, wood sorrel, red champion, and of course a good collection of ferns!.
The local coast is renowned for its stunning coastal walks, swimming beaches and geological features. The Lodge is overlooked by Bainloch Deer Park and Dalbeattie Forest is just a stone's throw away with fabulous gravel tracks for cycling and walking and is part of the 7 Stanes Mountain biking parks. Galloway forest park has been designated as the first 'Dark Sky Park' in the UK and noted for its rare stargazing conditions. Local lochs for fishing and wild swimming and Mersehead RSPB reserve 3 miles away.
Fern Lodge is attached to Barnhourie Farm and has its own separate entrance overlooking the orchard.
